chapter five-Falls,Hospitals and Herbal tea

“Every thing’s going to be O.K , your sister is a very brave soldier, she wont be seriously hurt.” Granny Moonface said this behind a curtain of tears.

Hai-Lin was crying,Granny Moonface had stayed with her comforting her and feeding her hot chocolate whilst Grandpa Moonface rushed Shuihai to the hospital.

On arrival, one of the Ethiopies*, took Shuihai in his tentacles and disappeared into a treatment room, “Don’t worry” he gurgled, “We will take good care of her”.

Grandpa Moonface was waiting while the Ethiopies checked out Shuihai. One of the Ethiopies came out of the ward room he came over to Grandpa Moonface.

“Your granddaughter will be O.K she only has a badly bruised back,”The Ethiopie assured Grandpa Moonface,”all she needs is a bit of rest and a herbal healing tea.”

Grandpa Moon face got back to the house just before midday with a sleeping Shuihai.As he carried Shuihai up the stairs he told Hai-Lin what the Ethiopie told him and Hai-Lin took a deep breath then exhaled very deeply after she started laughing maniacally, whilst she was doing so Grandpa Moonface carried on up the stairs and gently put Shuihai to sleep.

In the morning Hai-Lin crept into Shuihai’s room and sat at the side of her sleeping sister. Shuihai stirred and woke up.

“Hello,”Hai-Lin said to her half awake sister.

“uh…oh hello,”Shuihai tried to sit up s she said this but her back failed on her,”owwww that hurt, what happened?”

“We think you fell down the stairs and you bruised your back really badly,”Hai-Lin said cheerfully.

“Oh.”

After Hai-Lin had gone down stairs got some healing tea and brought it back up with Granny and Grandpa Moonface following her,Shuihai fell back asleep whilst Hai-Lin went outside and rode Rose for a few hours.

The next day was spent by writing letters to Zodiac and putting things into a big parcel for Zodiac,Getting the parcel weighed and sent off.

Ethiopies* are big squid nurse thingies that are verry good at healing things and look like they are sea urchins

Chapter four – Goodbye to Zodiac

A few hours later the girls were sat at the big kitchen table listening to what Granny Moonface needed to tell them.”So girls you are going to be staying here for a while, we’re going back round to yours to pick up your things. Your mum won’t be around for a while and we will be looking after the house.”

Once the girls had heard what they needed to hear they went upstairs and got ready for bed.Whilst Shuhai was getting ready for bed and brushing her teeth Hai-Lin slunk into her bathroom.

“Do you think mum will be all right Shuhai?”asked Hai-Lin.

“I don’t know, But we have to always remember that whatever happens that she’s our mum and we love her.”Replied Shuhai half-heartedly.

After the girls had said goodnight and gone to bed Granny and Grandpa Moonface were talking in the kitchen.

“I’m worried for the girls. I don’t know how they’ll cope.”Granny Moonface said sadly Grandpa Moonface patted her on the hand.

“They’ll be all right. Their our daughter’s girls, They managed to be brave when their father got killed during the war,So they’ll manage to cope with their mother gone for a while.”Grandpa Moonface said reassuringly.

“What if she doesn’t come back?”Granny Moonface said before bursting into tears.

“Don’t talk like that,”Grandpa Moonface said whilst getting out of his seat to hug his wife,”She’ll be fine.We just need to make sure that the girls don’t get too upset and that we don’t forget her.”

The next day the girls went home to pick up their things and say goodbye to their mum. Grandpa Moonface took Granny Moonface and the girls back to the farm then took Zodiac to Serpents Gate*.

Shuhai and Hai-Lin went to the stables to go and ride Rose and Bluebell.

The girls spent hours outside racing each other until Granny Moonface called them in for tea.

Whilst the girls were eating their favourite meal mashed potatoes, pork sausages,peas and pumpkin soup , the phone rang it was a phone call from their mother she had arrived at Freldegan*.She told the girls not to worry and that she’ll be sending them a pixie* every week. After the girls had finished their tea they went to bed.

In the morning they both found a huge pile of boxes at the end of their bed.As they went downstairs Granny Moonface was waiting at the table in the kitchen with a huge pile of pancakes waiting for them both. Shuhai and Hai-Lin looked at each other and shrugged.

“Happy birthday girls,” Grandpa Moonface said cheerfully.

The girls had been so caught up with the last few days that they forgot today was their birthday,Today Shuhai would be thirteen and Hai-Lin would be eleven.The girls suddenly noticed that on top of the pancakes there were two small candles.

“Aren’t you going to blow out your candles?”asked Granny Moonface.

“yes of course sorry i was miles away there and i think Hai-Lin was too,”replied Shuhai quickly.

So the girls blew out their candles, ate their pancakes and went upstairs to unwrap their presents. Whilst the girls were playing with their presents there was a knock at the door,When Granny Moonface went and opened it a small shimmerring figure fluttered in front of her, the figure grew and grew until it was human sized and it gave Granny Moonface a package then it shrunk and flew off.The stamp read “To Shuhai and Hai-Lin Love-Locket.”

“Shuhai,Hai-Lin package for you!!!”Granny Moonface yelled upstairs “I think it’s from your mum!!!”

A moment later 4 feet came stomping down the stairs. Hai-Lin was the first one to reach the door.

“Can I open it ?”She asked pathetically

“If tis O.K with your sister,”Granny replied.

Hai-Lin turned to look at Shuhai and gave her a puppy dog look so Shuhai nodded at her as if to say if you must.

“Yaay!!!!” cheered Hai-Lin.

She tore off the scelotape and opened the box, inside were two finely wrapped packages one read “To Shuhai Love-Locket ” the other”To Hai-Lin Love-Locket“.Shuhai took out her package and carefully unwrapped it.Inside the package was a small hand carved box made of a dark coloured wood and lined with a blue mother of pearl .Hai-Lin’s was made of the same wood but lined with a pink mother of pearl.

“Their beautifu, Hey whats that in the bottom of the box?”Inquired Hai-Lin,”it looks like a letter, it is a letter.”

Shuhai reached into the box and brought out a letter. She tore open the envelope and read:

Dear Shuhai and Hai-Lin,these boxes were made by you father, He intended to give them to you on your last birthday but he got called away to the war and he didn’t get the chance to give them to you . He told me to give them to you this birthday when he went away. please take good care of them . Inside them is my present i hope you like them.

Love your mother xxxxxxx

The Girls opened their boxes and inside there were a necklace each Shuhai’s made of Saffire Hai-Lins of Ruby.Granny Moonface helped them put them on.Shuhai and Hai-Lin took the boxes upstairs and put them on their bedside table. the rest of the day they spent having riding lessons off their grandparents.Once they were finished had tea and went to bed. Granny and Grandpa Moonface wrote zodiac a letter and sent it away.

In the morning Grandpa moonface got up got dressed and went downstairs he found Shuhai on the floor at the bottom of the stairs lying in a unusual position.

*Serpents Gate is a station type place where you can get on different serpents to go to different places.It is like an airport a train station and a bus station all in one big building,except that the buses, the planes and the trains are all huge serpents that you sit on.

* Freldegan is where the war is

*a pixie is a sort of post man but it can travel places extremely quickly

Chapter Three – Zodiac

“Owww,”Cried Shuhai,”He burnt me! He burnt me!”

Grandma and Grandpa Moonface rushed into the kitchen to see what was going on.

“Honey what happened?”inquired Grandma Moonface

“Stove burnt me again, I thought you told him to stop burning people,”Shuhai pleaded.

“I did tell him,” Grandma replied sympathetically,”And later I shall tell him off severely.But first go up stairs and use your herbs to stop that burn from hurting,”She gave the stove an icy stare and a groaning noise came from it and it seemed to try to shrink backwards.

Meanwhile upstairs the girls were preparing a small strong smelling concoction.Hai-Lin
instructed Shuhai to run a small amount of hot water onto the mixture, to activate the healing properties, Shuhai did as she was told silently.Soon the girls where outside riding about on their horses with a full stomach of groggles like nothing happened. Grandma and Grandpa Moonface were inside at the kitchen table with a cup of herbal tea and a plate of groggles in front of them.

“Well Fredrick you know I was about tell you some thing earlier,”Grandma Moonface said in a sort of whisper Grandpa nodded with a worried expression on his face,”Zodiac is going to the war grounds to work there as a nurse,But she’s been stationed in the middle of the battle field and she doesn’t know how long she’ll be gone.So she wants us to look after the girls for her,she also wants us to tell them and take them round to collect all their things.”

Chapter Two – Moonlight Farm

When the girls woke up they were at one of their favorite places on the cube* Moonbeam farm. All around them were cows, sheep and chickens, the girls absolutely loved it at their grandparents farm. But what they loved the most was the fact that they had their very own horses.

“Come on girls help me put your things in your rooms,”Grandpa Moonface told them,”wow your suitcases are heavier than usual.”

So Shuhai and Hai-lin grabbed their suitcases and took them into the big farmhouse that they would be staying in for a couple of days.Then they took the suitcases up into their rooms.Shuhai’s room was blue and in the middle of it was a big four poster bed with blue net draping down the sides of it and covering the sleeping area,she had all sorts of things in her room things her grandparents bought her when they went away things she bought for herself.Shuhai unpacked her clothes and put them in her big wardrobe , she unpacked her toothbrush (she didn’t really need to bring her toothbrush because she already had one at her grandparents house) and put it in her luxurious en suite bathroom (which was blue) .Shuhai then unpacked her teddy and put it on her pillow and she flopped onto the bed.

“ahhh this is going to be so much fun.” she told her sister as Hai-lin was walking past.

“yep,”was Hai-lins reply,”race you down to the stables!”

“you’re on.”

So they shot down stairs and ran past Granny Moonface.She grabbed both of them with cat like reflexes.

“Where do you to think you’re going.”

“To go see rose and bluebell,”Hia-Lin answered innocently

“I thought you two would like to come and help me make groggles,*” Granny Moonface replied

“O.K,”the girls yelled at the same time.

“come on then.”

Once the girls got into the kitchen ,got their aprons on ,washed their hands and put their hair up they were ready to start making groggles.

As the two girls were making groggles Granny Moonface was on the phone to their mother, and she sounded kind of worried .

“…Right O.K I’ll tell the girls,”granny said down the phone

“Granny could you light the stove for us please?”asked Hai-Lin

“One minute honey I need to go tell your grandpa something ,” replied granny moonface

Grandpa moonface was outside feeding the sheep when his wife came up to him.

“Fredrick i need to tell you something about zodiac…”

*the cube is the planet that the girls live on .The girls live on the top of the cube (thats the best part to be honest)

*groggles are like what you call flapjacks

Chapter One – Beginings

Up on a mountain top lived a small girl called Shuhai, who lived with her little sister Hai-Lin and their mother Zodiac. The village that they lived in (or rather on the out skirts ) was called Hootsville. They were so called “witches”,just because they made healing medicines the local pharmacy. Zodiac helped the villagers when they fell critically ill.

“Mum why do people call us the local witches?”Hai-Lin asked one day

“Do you know what I don’t know why people call us witches!”Zodiac answered whilst stirring the funny looking concoction in the large cooking pot.

DING DONG

“Shuhai could you get that please!”yelled Zodiac

“Ok” answered a voice from upstairs somewhere

THUMP THUMP THUMP CRASH

Then a small brown haired girl appeared from the direction of the stairs ,she walked through the kitchen and to the front door.

“Go see what your sister has broken this time. ” Zodiac ordered exasperatedly.

So Hai-Lin trundled off to do as she was told and a couple of seconds later she sank back into the kitchen .

“Erm mum shes broken that really special pot puppet” Hai-Lin said timidly

“Oh”

“Mum,mum guess who’s here”exclaimed Shuhai”Granny and Grandpa moonface “

“Well Granny and Grandpa moonface know you to have to go to school”hinted Zodiac

“Aaaaghhhhh”moaned the girls

“If this is a bad time we can come back later”informed Grandpa moonface

“No no stay please!”begged Hai-Lin

Granny shifted in her tie die shorts”well we did come to see if the girls would like to come to the farm for a few days”

“Oh please please please mum we’ll be really good promise” begged Shuhai

“I don’t know…. hmm fine ,but as long as you two behave yourselves” explained Zodiac

“Yaaaaaay” the girls cheered in unison

“Right girls you better go pack your…….”

Hai-Lin and Shuhai were half way up the stairs before Zodiac could even finish

Shuhai ran into her room dived under her bed and pulled out a big blue suitcase and packed a nighty ,a few sets of clothes ,her best looking teddy bear and her toothbrush.Hia-Lin pulled out from under her bed her smaller pink suitcase and packed the same sort of things.They both ran back down stairs got their coats on and siad goodbye to their mum.

“Right girls put your suitcases into the boot and get into the back of the car”Grandpa told them as they left the house.

The girls did as they were told and soon after they set off the girls nodded off and before they knew it they were there.

i’m not used to blogging so things may be a little random for quite a while – as I learn what I can do

By the way, when you watch any of the kung pow videos please ignore the music at the start of the vid i dont really like that kind of music apart from Evanescence i like them .

i may start putting up some of my music if i find out how to.
